Stress and the work place is a very common condition, requiring a lot of focus and momentum in the work environment. Increased hours with less personal time is a deadly combination for anyone.

Many employers have started to offer massage at the work place, increasing productivity, reducing stress and then intern lowering illness and sick days. Some employers contribute to employees massage treatments, offering them in the work place, a quiet corner or room, subsidizing a percentage of the massage and allowing an employee to take the time during the workday.

Statistics Canada recently reported that the annual loss of productivity due to stress stands at 12 million dollars in Canada alone. This report reinforces the World Health Organization’s identification of job stress as a “worldwide epidemic”.
