I have always felt drawn to connection to the divine. The body is the temple and through touch it is quickly accessed. When I was a girl, I received bodywork and was profoundly influenced by it; I still feel that influence when a client stands up and says that they don’t hurt anymore, or that they can move in a way they couldn’t before the session. It is always exciting to be a part of someone’s path to health.
I am always searching for better ways to help my clients, so it seems as though I am always in the process of learning new or more advanced techniques. Each session is a special opportunity for me to help someone, and I am grateful for each client who walks through my door. I say a silent prayer before each session to ask for guidance with each client and to help each person heal.
In my spare time, I enjoy reading, painting, gardening, and spending time with my wonderful family.
As an instructor, I strive to create a fun and healing environment and present students with fundamentals of the trade, real world examples, and offer a forum for sharing and discussion. As an embodiment coach, my goal is to assist others physically, mentally, and spiritually by incorporating and sharing the skills and experience that I have acquired.
There is an inherent wisdom in the body, which contains all subconscious knowledge, memory, and emotions. The body is the bridge between the conscious and subconscious aspects of ourselves, and is a reflection of every aspect of our being.
When there is insufficient communication between the conscious and subconscious aspects of ourselves, problems arise. Physical and emotional pain signals this disharmony: it lets us know when something needs to be changed, warning us to prevent ourselves from further damage.
The human body has an amazing capacity to compensate for stress, however, when our body has reached the limit of our adaptive capacity, pain and dysfunction arise. In order for healing to take place, it is important to identify and treat the source of the problem.
My mission is to provide services and tools to assist you through your healing process with a gentle heart. Having a nurturing disposition and being passionate in nature, I possess a delicate discernment of compassion and empathy for others. I gain a sense of self-gratification in assisting others manifest awareness and healing within their own mind, body and spirit.
I understand that a life of fulfillment is a life filled with a profound gift of human emotions and experiences, which is the beauty and reality of life, involving tribulation as well as bliss, infused with a mixture of light and darkness. Life can be difficult and confusing at times because of this, and my purpose is to offer a safe, comfortable environment where you are able to soothe your soul and begin to find peace within yourself in the midst of chaos.
I began practising yoga over two decades ago. Turning to yoga as a way to soften my heart, ease my mind, and use the pulsation of breath to find a more natural rhythm that supported my well-being. Inside this more natural rhythm she found the time to pause, breathe, feel and perceive life clearly, and found that the most valuable thing we could ever possess is clearly within our sights: this life itself.
I believe that through our asana practice we release pent up tensions that have accumulated in our body which allows us to further refine our physical senses so we become sensitive, adaptive and resilient. This new awareness allows us to see that no matter how different we may appear on the surface, we all share the same life. We learn to inhale completely and open to new experiences. We learn to exhale completely and let go of unnecessary tension and the past, and start to align ourselves with the ebb and flow of life rather than fight with it. Gradually we begin to recognize that in between the ups and downs and the coming and going, there is a matrix of stillness that is the backdrop of all phenomena.
The goal of my yoga practice has never been to stand on my head. The goal has always been to quiet my mind, check in with myself, and stand more fully on my own two feet. It is this goal that also informs my yoga teaching style. I has been most drawn to the Hatha Flow Yoga and Tantra yoga, both of which are inquiry-based methods that use classic postures, breathing, meditation, and relaxation techniques to increases awareness of body, breath, and mind.
In love, Renee
