I have always felt drawn to a connection to the divine. The body is the temple, which is quickly accessed through touch. When I was a girl, I received bodywork and was profoundly influenced by it; I still feel that influence when a client stands up and says that they don’t hurt anymore or that they can move in a way they couldn’t before the session. Being a part of someone’s path to health is always exciting.
I am always searching for better ways to help my clients, so I am always in the process of learning new or more advanced techniques. Each session is a special opportunity for me to help someone, and I am grateful for each client who walks through my door. I say a silent prayer before each session to ask for guidance and to help each person heal.
I enjoy reading, painting, gardening, and spending time with my wonderful family in my spare time.
As an instructor, I strive to create a fun and healing environment, present students with fundamentals of the trade, use real-world examples, and offer a forum for sharing and discussion. As an embodiment coach, I aim to assist others physically, mentally, and spiritually by incorporating and sharing the skills and experience I have acquired.
The body contains inherent wisdom, including all subconscious knowledge, memory, and emotions. It is the bridge between the conscious and subconscious aspects of ourselves and reflects every aspect of our being.
Problems arise when there is insufficient communication between our conscious and subconscious aspects of ourselves. Physical and emotional pain signals this disharmony: it lets us know when something needs to be changed, warning us to prevent ourselves from further damage.
The human body has an amazing capacity to compensate for stress. However, pain and dysfunction arise when our body has reached the limit of our adaptive capacity. For healing to occur, it is important to identify and treat the source of the problem.
My mission is to provide services and tools to assist you through your healing process with a gentle heart. With a nurturing disposition and a passionate nature, I possess a delicate discernment of compassion and empathy for others. I gain a sense of self-gratification in assisting others in manifesting awareness and healing within their own minds, bodies, and spirits.
I understand that a life of fulfillment is filled with a profound gift of human emotions and experiences, which is the beauty and reality of life, involving tribulation and bliss, infused with a mixture of light and darkness. Life can be difficult and confusing at times because of this, and my purpose is to offer a safe, comfortable environment where you can soothe your soul and begin to find peace within yourself in the midst of chaos.
I began practising yoga over two decades ago. Turning to yoga to soften my heart, ease my mind, and use the pulsation of breath to find a more natural rhythm that supports my well-being. Inside this more natural rhythm she found the time to pause, breathe, feel and perceive life clearly, and found that the most valuable thing we could ever possess is clearly within our sights: this life itself.
I believe that through our asana practice, we release pent-up tensions that have accumulated in our bodies, which allows us to refine our physical senses further. Hence, we become sensitive, adaptive and resilient. This new awareness allows us to see that we all share the same life, no matter how different we may appear on the surface. We learn to inhale completely and be open to new experiences. We learn to exhale completely, let go of unnecessary tension and the past, and start aligning ourselves with life’s ebb and flow rather than fight with it. Gradually, we begin to recognize that between the ups and downs and the coming and going, a matrix of stillness is the backdrop of all phenomena.
The goal of my yoga practice has never been to stand on my head. The goal has always been to quiet my mind, check in with myself, and stand more fully on my own two feet. This goal also informs my yoga teaching style. I have been most drawn to Hatha Flow Yoga and Tantra Yoga, both of which are inquiry-based methods that use classic postures, breathing, meditation, and relaxation techniques to increase awareness of body, breath, and mind.
In love, Renee
