Thai Yoga Massage is my most raved about modality! You get all the benefits of a yoga session and massage therapy in one! Who can ask for more? You will be moved and stretched from your toes to your head. Thai Yoga incorporates many healing modalities with the intent of bringing the body back to balance. Acupressure is used to open up the energy lines in the body, the energy flows to open up energy blocks. Yoga Stretches are incorporated to open up the joints and increase range of motion and elongate the muscles. Reflexology is performed on the feet to stimulate pressure points that go to vital organs. Deep breathing is encouraged throughout the session to promote a clear mind and naturally induce a meditative state.
After your session, you will be centred, grounded and your body will be freed from restrictions.

Traditional Thai massage is an ancient system of healing dating back 2,500 years, with its roots in yoga, Ayurvedic medicine and meditation. This unique and complete system combines rhythmic massage, acupressure, gentle twisting, and deep stretching. Not only does this massage feel great, it releases tension and stress, increases vitality, prevents illness, and creates wholeness and harmony of the mind, body, and spirit.
The massage generally follows the Sen lines on the body—somewhat analogous to meridians or channels and Indian nadis. Legs and feet of the giver can be used to fixate the body or limbs of the recipient. In other positions, hands fixate the body, while the feet do the massaging action. A full Thai massage session typically lasts two hours or more, and includes rhythmic pressing and stretching of the entire body; this may include pulling fingers, toes, ears, cracking the knuckles, walking on the recipient’s back, and arching the recipient into bhujangasana (or cobra position). There is a standard procedure and rhythm to the massage, which the practitioner will adjust to fit each individual client.
The true practice of the art of healing in traditional nuad boran (thai massage) is the compassionate intent of the healer. The Buddhist spiritual practices associated with thai massage cultivate humility, awareness, and concentration in the healer designed to bring the practitioner to a deeper level of awareness of herself and the client. This compassionate state of being is termed “metta”, which usually translates as “loving kindness”.

Thai Yoga Massage FAQs:
What kind of clothing should I bring to wear?
Anything that is loose and comfortable. Yoga or gym clothes are ideal. I tend to keep the room warm, so sweaters are not needed unless you tend to be frequently cold. Socks are optional.
I’m not flexible. Can I still have Thai Yoga Massage?
Absolutely! Thai Yoga Massage is completely customized to meet your needs at the flexibility level your body is currently at. Many choose this modality specifically to increase the elasticity of their muscles and therefore improve posture.
I had Thai Massage in Thailand and it hurt…. Will you hurt me?
Unlike in Thailand, it is never my goal to hurt my clients. Thai Yoga Massage can be very relaxing and potentially put you to sleep, or it can be therapeutic and therefore touch on some tender areas. During therapeutic stretches, I make sure to check in regularly on your comfort level and ensure that you never reach a point of “too much”.
